Terms of Service

These terms apply when you use reefwise.org. They're short on purpose. By using the site you agree to them. If you don't, please don't use it.

What ReefWise is

ReefWise is a calculator and tracking tool for reef aquarium chemistry. It gives you estimated dosing amounts based on the inputs you enter and the published chemistry of common aquarium supplements.

The important caveat

ReefWise calculations are estimates. You are solely responsible for what you dose into your tank. Always add doses slowly, follow the safe-dose guidance the calculator displays, and test after dosing. We are not liable for livestock loss, coral death, or any other damage resulting from your use of the calculations or any interpretation of them. If you're unsure, consult your local fish store or a senior member of your reef community before dosing.

Your account

• You must be at least 16 years old to create an account.
• You're responsible for anything done from your account. Don't share your magic link with people you don't want to give access to.
• You must provide a real email address so we can reach you about security or billing issues.

Subscriptions and payments

• Paid plans (Monthly, Yearly, Lifetime) are billed via Stripe. Prices shown on the pricing page are in USD unless noted otherwise.
• Monthly and Yearly plans renew automatically until you cancel. You can cancel any time from your account page and continue using Pro until the end of the paid period.
• Lifetime plans are a one-time payment and do not renew. "Lifetime" means the lifetime of the ReefWise product; we'll give reasonable notice if we ever discontinue it.
• Refunds are available within 30 days of purchase for any reason. Email us at billing@reefwise.org and we'll process it.

Acceptable use

Don't use ReefWise to do any of the following:

• Break any law or anyone else's rights.
• Hammer our API or try to scrape user data.
• Resell access to Pro features to people who haven't paid.
• Upload content that isn't yours, or attempt to reverse-engineer the application.

We may suspend or delete accounts that violate these rules. We'll refund any unused portion of a paid plan if we do.

Changes to the service

We may add, change, or remove features at any time. We'll give reasonable notice for changes that materially reduce what paid plans include. If we end up shutting the product down, we'll give users at least 30 days to export their data.

Intellectual property

The ReefWise name, design, chemistry engine, and code are ours. Your tanks, readings, doses, and any data you enter remain yours — we claim no rights to any of it, and you can export or delete it whenever you want.

Warranty and liability

ReefWise is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind. To the fullest extent permitted by law, our liability to you is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before any claim arose. We are not liable for livestock loss, indirect damages, loss of data you didn't export, or other consequential harm.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any dispute will be handled in the courts of England and Wales.
